Wine is forbidden to be drunk in the Church of God forever: (Leviticus 10:9-10).

When we study the account of the Passover, it was followed by seven days of unleavened bread. No leaven was to be found in the house, “Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.” (Exodus 12:15). Jesus Christ kept the Passover and the rule of the Passover doesn’t allow leaven to be in the house, let alone in the Church. Wine is a fermented juice, meaning it has leaven and it is not allowed in the service during the days of unleavened bread and there is no way Jesus could have used wine as his blood. The scripture in (Matthew 26:26-28) needs to be understood, never at any time had wine been representative of blood, not even of the blood of Jesus Christ.

In Numbers 6, the scripture tells us of sanctification through a Nazarite vow. A Nazarite was a person who made a solemn vow to separate him/herself unto the Lord and during that time, he was told to abstain from wine and strong drink, was not allowed to drink vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, nor liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried (Numbers 6:1-4). It is important to know that back then people could dedicate some time to God but during that time of an intimate encounter with the Lord, he had to part ways with anything from the grape tree, meaning when you have chosen to follow the Lord, you should also separate yourself from all these. A Nazarite would be equivalent to a modern day Christian, there were some full time Nazarites like Samson and John the Baptist. Full time Nazarites had a total abstinence from all the above mentioned all the days of their lives. Now we are full time Christians who have chosen the Lord all the days of our lives, we are to separate ourselves from all of those things mentioned in (Numbers 6:1-4) all the days of our lives.

Great men of God like Samson and John the Baptist were forbidden to drink wine even whilst in their mothers’ wombs. (Judges 13 and Luke 1:15), John was to be “great in the sight of the Lord, and shall not drink wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost.” The Holy Ghost doesn’t associate with wine.
